G Science Declaration Endorsed by the RSC

The Royal Society of Canada has endorsed the declaration issued as a result of the meeting of National Science Academies of the G Science in Tokyo, Japan.

The declaration, which results from the meetings of February 16-17, includes policy directions in three issues: Disaster Resilience; Global Brain Resources; and Nurturing Scientists for the Future.  The RSC was represented at the meeting by President Maryse Lassonde and Foreign Secretary Jeremy McNeil.

Since 2005, National Science Academies have convened on an annual basis to draft statements related to thematic priorities identified by the host nation.
