Past-President Yolande Grisé among 15 Fellows Elected to the Order of Canada

I would like to extend my congratulations to the 15 Fellows who were elected to the Order of Canada earlier this month.  Many of the Society’s most eminent Fellows and supporters have joined the Order, and I am particularly pleased to be able to congratulate Past-President Yolande Grisé and our long-time supporter Sandra Irving in view of their distinguished past service to the Society.  The full list is as follows.

In addition, I am pleased to share that Constance Backhouse, University of Ottawa, President-Elect of Academy II, has been announced as the winner of the 2015 Molson Prize in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The Molson Prize recognizes individuals who have made a substantial and distinguished contribution to the cultural or intellectual heritage of Canada.
