The Royal Society of Canada welcomes Darren Gilmour as its next Executive Director

The Royal Society of Canada is proud to announce the return of Darren Gilmour as its Executive Director, effective July 6, 2016.

“We are thrilled to have Darren back,” said RSC President Maryse Lassonde. “Darren’s contributions were integral in the establishment of the College, in the development of our current strategic plan and in the acquisition of Walter House. The opportunities now before the RSC are vast, and Darren’s leadership is going to be important in realizing these possibilities.”

Since February 2015, Darren has served as Vice-President at the Public Policy Forum. He had previously occupied the role of Executive Director of the RSC from 2008 to 2015. Prior to the RSC, Darren was mentored in leadership and fundraising by his father at Red Letter Philanthropy Counsel in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Raised in the Maritimes, Darren has degrees from Acadia University and United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya.

The RSC is integral to the future of our country,” said Mr. Gilmour. “I am very happy to be back.”
